Birthday

 Who could ask for a better birthday that to be surrounded by beautiful jungle and a lot of new friends and wonderful people?  Today I turned 21 while here in the Philippines, and let me tell you, it was a very eventful day.  Today was the first day of the weekend youth retreat organized by Norman, a young bible school student from Tagbalarn.  He takes off each weekend to come to this bario and help out wherever there is need.  After a short skit by our team, and a lesson taught by Michael, we had some very interesting games were we had to learn some filipino phrases, and a different version of whisper down the lane.  After lunch, we had a swimming party before playing an extremely intense game of basketball.  It was filipino’s vs. americans with one filipino on our team.  The game ended at 26 to 32 but 3 point shots didn’t count, and Michael was sinking them left and right, so points to points would have been very close.  After the game everyone went home to return again tomorrow.  Tonight there is a tournament basketball game here in the bario, and tomorrow there will be another that we will play in.  All in all, it was a very fun and eventful but also very tiring day.  I met several new people and was reacquainted with several people that I met on the last trip.  Well, its off to bed early tonight, and another eventful day in store for tomorrow.  Thanks for all your prayers, and God Bless.
